Description:Description:Job Title: NPI Material CoordinatorDepartment: NPI Component Manufacturing EngineeringReports to: Manager, NPI Component Manufacturing EngineeringJoining Intuitive Surgical means joining a team dedicated to using technology to benefit patients by improving surgical efficacy and decreasing surgical invasiveness, with patient safety as our highest priority.Primary Function of Position:The mission of NPI Component Manufacturing Engineering is to establish high quality and stable production processes of purchased components from suppliers operating under robust quality systems. The NPI Material Coordinator (MC) will help the team manage part shortages using tactical support on small scope projects to resolve issues quickly. The NPI MC may also help with projects in similar scope in developing the supply base.Roles and Responsibilities:Material AvailabilityLine Support during NPI manufacturing• Support Cross-functional team of Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing and Design Engineering, in addition to the CME team• Triage (potential) line down incidents and coordinate CME responses• Ensure timely process of high priority quality notifications and issues• Guide sign-off of high-priority Engineering Changes (ECOs) through releaseNPI Part QualificationFirst Article Inspections• Track FAI submittals and facilitate expedition of reports• Help resolve basic FAIR discrepancies surrounding documentationProduction Part Qualification Process• Assist in collection and tracking progress of required qualification records• Submit or track submission of ECOs for PPQP recordsSkill/Job Requirements:In order to adequately perform the responsibilities of this position the individual must possess:Essential• Understand basic business and manufacturing workflows• Successful supporting cross-functional teams• Ability to adjust to changing priorities• Excellent organizational skills and ability to pivot between tasks• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical communication• Experience using various data reporting tools (Excel, Tableau, or SmartSheets)Preferred• Previous experience in material coordinator or expeditor role• Familiarity with 21 CFR part 820 and ISO 13485 and GDP• Experience using PLM tool (Agile or Windchill)• Experience using a ERP Information Systems (preferably SAP)• Ability to read and interpret detailed specifications and schematics and communicate technical information
