Acre is partnering with a leading US-based clean fuels and carbon business at the frontier of BECCS-based carbon removal, in their search for a Director, Carbon Products & Market Design. As carbon markets mature and value shifts toward high-integrity, attribute-rich products, this organisation is building the commercial architecture to capture that premium, and they need an exceptional carbon markets professional to lead it.The RoleThis is a rare opportunity to own the full carbon product strategy for a business with genuinely differentiated assets. You will design, structure, and drive the monetisation of a portfolio of carbon removal products, starting with BECCS removal credits, translating technical and sustainability advantages into pricing power, commercial leverage, and durable market credibility.You'll sit at the intersection of carbon markets, lifecycle analysis, regulatory policy, and commercial execution, operating with significant autonomy and reporting directly to the Chief Carbon Officer.What You'll OwnDefine and build a carbon integrity standard, establishing a tiered product architecture with defensible, premium attribute layers, from regenerative agriculture and water stewardship to biodiversity co-benefits and rural economic developmentLead buyer insight and market design - engaging CPG sustainability teams, aviation and energy transition buyers, Scope 3 procurement teams, and carbon removal intermediaries to translate preferences into structured, sellable productsDevelop pricing logic tied to attribute differentiation and model margin uplift across bundled product offerings, including removal + inset claims, regenerative agriculture verification, and water stewardshipPartner with LCA, MRV/traceability, farm and feedstock, and regulatory teams to ensure audit-readiness and environmental integrity across all product claimsBuild buyer-facing narratives, commercial playbooks, and product briefs that establish this organisation as a high-integrity, premium carbon removal providerWhat They're Looking ForRequired:8+ years in carbon markets, climate tech, environmental commodities, sustainability strategy, or renewable fuelsDeep knowledge across voluntary carbon markets (VCM), carbon dioxide removal (CDR), lifecycle analysis (LCA), and corporate Scope 3 accountingDemonstrated experience translating environmental attributes into pricing power, buyer differentiation, or contract structureExperience in structuring environmental or sustainability-linked products for commercial saleStrong executive-level communication and influencing skillsPreferred:Experience with BECCS or engineered carbon removal pathwaysFamiliarity with registry standards (Puro.earth, Verra, Gold Standard, ACR)Background engaging CPG, aviation, or energy transition buyersExperience across biofuel compliance programmes (LCFS, RFS, CORSIA)Background in environmental economics, sustainability analytics, or market designWhy This RoleThis organisation has built real, scalable BECCS infrastructure with genuine co-benefit potential across agriculture, water, and biodiversity.
