The four competencies for this position are Adaptability & Flexibility, Communication, Problem Solving, and Team Work.The primary responsibility of this position is to check the authorization of payments, create accounts payable checks, and reconcile payment schedules and vendor statements.Responsibilities described in this section are fundamental to success in this position.Responsible for applying payments for accounts receivables customers and noting any shortages, calling customers or sending copies of invoices for invoices not paid, and maintaining accounts receivables schedule, and customer accounts.Communicate with management on collection difficulties, copying correspondence and charges for the manager responsibleAbility to reconcile accounts paid by invoice instead of statement,Responsible for printing an aged trial balance and mailing monthly billing statements and past due statementsManage the collection of NSF checks by verifying funds, exchanging for cashier's checks, or making copies for the managerAbility to provide new account forms to managers or customers upon request and verifying references on new account formsResponsible for ensuring that the dealership is in compliance with the current collections regulations, (e.g. Hours that calls can be placed, place of employment calls, and number of contacts allowedProvide credit history files for account status inquiries per management guidelinesUses personal device to provide an additional layer of security for company network and site access through multi-factor authentication.Enforce safety precautions specific to work areaOther responsibilities as assignedThe requirements listed below are the minimum degrees, certifications, knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position.Previous automotive accounting experience preferredPrevious customer service, collection, or accounting experienceHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Ability to type, ten key and knowledge of ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with a wide range of individualsStrong organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated resourcefulness and ability to take initiative in development and completion of people and projectsDemonstrates dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedulesStrong PC skillsBasic office knowledge such as copier, facsimile, 10-key, typing, etc.Willingness to continue professional developmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hearThe employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouchThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance visionMust be able to pass a drug/alcohol urinalysis and be able to drive a vehicleThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those one may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
