QA Automation Engineer

Overview In this role, you design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for web and mobile, collaborating with product, design, and engineering to ensure quality at speed. You leverage Playwright and modern CI/CD practices in Azure DevOps or GitHub, with cloud deployments spanning AWS and Azure. AI-assisted test automation is a value-add on the team, supporting faster, smarter test generation and flakiness reduction. You work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment that aims to deliver innovative solutions and robust UX. ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain automated test suites for web and mobile using Playwright and AppiumCreate comprehensive test strategies (functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, accessibility, performance)Collaborate with developers on unit & API test strategies and participate in story grooming and acceptance criteria refinementBuild CI/CD quality gates in Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions; integrate results, detect flaky tests, and provide quality metrics dashboardsManage test environments and data across AWS & Azure, including fixtures, mocking, and service virtualizationExecute and triage automated and exploratory tests; provide clear repro steps with logs, videos, and screenshotsValidate usability, accessibility (WCAG), responsiveness, and visual consistency; work with design for testable UI patternsApply coding best practices (page objects, fixtures, test data strategies) and maintain documentationLeverage BrowserStack or Sauce Labs for cross-device coverage; explore AI-assisted tooling for test case generation and flakiness analysis Key requirements4+ years of QA/Quality Engineering focused on test automationStrong hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript) for web UI, API, and component testingSolid experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, test plans) and/or GitHub (Actions) including CI/CD integrationExperience automating tests for mobile apps (Appium, Detox, Espresso, or XCTest)Experience with agile practices (Scrum/Kanban)Practical knowledge of cloud environments: AWS and Azure provisioning, secrets management, and pipelinesFamiliarity with cross-browser/device testing using BrowserStack or Sauce LabsProficiency with API testing (Playwright API, Postman/Newman, REST/GraphQL) and contract testing (Pact)Strong debugging skills (network, logs, traces, screenshots/videos)Attention to UX, usability, visual consistency, and responsive behaviorcollaborative mindsetstrong problem-solvingattention to detailPlaywright (TypeScript/JavaScript)AppiumCypress or Puppeteer (alternative)
