Quality Control Technician

Primary Job Title: Quality Control TechnicianLocation: Des Plaines, ILOnsite Flexibility: OnsiteContract Details:Position Type: ContractPay Rate: $25.18 / Hour (USD)Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.Job Summary: Perform a wide variety of activities to support the Quality Management System. This role involves laboratory testing, batch record review, production inspections, and quality documentation in a GMP laboratory environment.Key Responsibilities:Conduct product testing, including testing to support complaint investigations and stability verificationGenerate product testing results reportsReview production batch records (DHR's) for accuracy and completeness to approve intermediate products for use in production and review finished goods batch records, reporting all deviations in these records and ensuring these have been addressed and resolved before issuing approvalConduct spot-checks, inspections/audits of production operationsParticipate in the internal audit programWrite, review, and approve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as necessaryMay assist in supporting the Document Control program, record retention areas, and sample retention areasMay support returned instrument processing:- Log returned instruments from the field - Decontaminate returned instruments in a Biohazard level II environment following standard operating procedure and documenting decontamination as required - Inspect returned instruments for damage, perform basic investigation, and document results before second-level processing - As necessary, process instrument documentation for return to the repair facility, and pack instruments as requiredRequired Skills and Qualifications:Ability to follow Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices (GMP and GLP)Ability to follow procedures and accurately document resultsUnderstanding the manufacturing processes of company products and the ability to recognize deviations from approved documented proceduresAttention to detailThe ability to use bleach for cleaning purposesAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before small groups of customers or employees of the organizationAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsKnowledge of databases, internet software, inventory, spreadsheets, and word processingEducation Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical area or equivalent combination of experience and educationAt least one year in a quality assurance role in the medical device industry is preferredWork Environment / Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
