Data Engineering ManagerWe’re partnered with a leading U.S. healthcare organisation currently undergoing a major data transformation, and they’re looking for a Data Engineering Manager to play a critical role in that journey.This is not a “keep the lights on” role. This is an opportunity to step into a function that needs rebuilding, take ownership, and shape what great looks like moving forward.The OpportunityYou’ll inherit a data engineering team that isn’t currently operating at the level the business needs and your mandate is clear:Elevate performanceImprove delivery speedBuild a stronger, more capable teamHelp guide a transition from legacy systems to a modern data platformAlongside this, you’ll play a key role in an upcoming data platform transformation, moving away from a traditional SQL Server / SSIS environment toward a scalable, cloud-based architecture.What You’ll Be DoingLead and develop a team of data engineers, improving output, standards, and accountabilityIdentify gaps in capability and help shape the future team structureDrive improvements in how data is ingested, processed, and delivered across the businessWork closely with senior stakeholders to align data engineering with business needsSupport the transition to a modern cloud data platform (e.g. Snowflake, Azure, Databricks)Reduce reliance on legacy processes and improve overall data accessibilityWhat We’re Looking ForProven experience leading and scaling data engineering teamsStrong background in SQL-based environments (e.g. SQL Server, ETL/SSIS)Exposure to modern cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)Ability to balance people leadership (≈70%) with technical credibilityExperience improving or rebuilding underperforming teams is a big plusHealthcare experience is helpful, but not essentialWhy This Role Stands OutGenuine transformation mandate — not BAUOpportunity to rebuild a team and make a visible impactInvolvement in a major platform modernisation decisionHigh level of ownership and autonomyBacked by leadership who recognise the need for changeRole Details2 days onsite Clearwater FloridaContract-to-hireIf you are interested in hearing more feel free to reach out!
