Business Development Manager, Reagent Services GenScript is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive and support sales efforts by implementing the sales and marketing strategies for GenScript's custom life science services. The Business Development Manager will use his/her knowledge of science and business, including corporate contacts, to develop and deliver profitable initiatives and build sales. This role will support the San Francisco Peninsula territory; the candidate should ideally reside within the Bay Area. The estimated base salary range is $90,000 - $105,000, based on experience level, before incentive pay. Key Responsibilities Work with Regional Manager to develop and implement territory sales strategies for services, new markets and applications. Collaborate with Regional Manager and Technical Solution Managers (TSMs) to ensure all possible actions are taken to secure business in a competitive environment. Understand the customer's research applications and match GenScript's custom life science services with their project requirements. Share market knowledge with Sales, TSM, and Marketing teams through weekly field feedback reports. Introduce GenScript to new researchers and companies in the industry. Allocate 50% of time to account management, quote and lead follow‐up, and 50% to field travel and virtual meetings to build relationships and achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales goals. Qualifications Strong scientific background – a Master's degree or above majoring in a life science area, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in scientific or life science sales. Knowledge of the Biological, CRO, CDMO, or general biotech market; emphasis on Gene Synthesis, Protein, Peptide, Bioassays, Antibody, and Cell Line Products/Services preferred. Laboratory experience preferred. Ability to operate effectively in an international business environment.
