Own the Growth.Heidel House Hotel & Conference Center is seeking a hands-on, high-impact Director of Sales & Marketing to lead our next phase of growth.Located on the shores of Big Green Lake, Heidel House is a full-service, lakeside destination with 113 guest rooms, multiple dining outlets, and over 11,000 square feet of meeting and event space. As we enter our 5th full summer season with strong momentum, we are looking for a leader who can elevate our sales culture, drive new business, and build a disciplined, accountable team.What This Role Really IsThis role is for someone who:Builds strong teams first and holds them accountableLeads from the front, not from behind a deskDrives outbound sales and new business developmentCan turn ideas into immediate revenue opportunitiesThrives in a fast-paced, ownership-driven environmentYou will work directly with the General Manager to shape strategy, drive performance, and position Heidel House as both a summer destination and year-round experience.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop the sales and marketing team with a strong focus on accountability, structure, and resultsEstablish clear expectations, goals, and performance standardsCreate a culture of ownership, urgency, and follow-throughEnsure alignment and communication between sales, operations, and executive leadershipSales Strategy & ExecutionOwn and execute the hotel’s sales strategy and revenue planDrive outbound sales efforts, with a focus on corporate, group, and new business developmentIdentify and pursue new revenue opportunities quickly and effectivelySet and monitor individual and team performance goals (room nights, revenue, pace)Business DevelopmentActively prospect, solicit, and close new business through:Direct sales calls and client visitsNetworking and community engagementStrategic partnerships and market outreachExpand corporate accounts and grow midweek and off-season businessMarketing & PositioningOversee marketing initiatives to support sales strategy and brand positioningEnsure consistent messaging across all channels (website, OTAs, social, promotions)Collaborate on campaigns that drive both peak season rate optimization and off-season demandRevenue & Performance ManagementWork closely with revenue strategy to:Maximize summer rates and compression opportunitiesDevelop strategies to fill need periods and shoulder seasonsMonitor pace, production, and market trends to adjust strategy in real timeCommunication & OwnershipServe as the bridge between ownership, GM, and the sales teamEnsure clear, consistent communication in all directionsTake full ownership of results — both successes and challengesWhat Success Looks LikeA high-performing, accountable sales team that knows their goals and hits themIncreased outbound activity and new business acquisitionStronger corporate and group base business, especially midweekImproved communication and alignment across departmentsAbility to quickly turn opportunities into booked revenueGrowth in both peak season rate and off-season occupancyWhat We’re Looking ForProven leadership experience in hotel sales (Director or senior-level preferred)Strong background in outbound sales and business developmentA natural team builder and coach who leads with clarity and accountabilityAbility to move quickly, make decisions, and drive resultsStrong communication skills — both with clients and internal teamsExperience in full-service hotels, resorts, or conference centers preferredWhat You’ll GetThe opportunity to own and shape the sales strategy of a growing destination propertyA leadership team committed to building something strong and sustainableA property with real momentum and upside potentialCompetitive compensation with a strong performance-based bonus structureThe chance to make a visible, lasting impact on the businessThe OpportunityHeidel House is more than a hotel — it’s a destination.
