We're excited to provide the best education in the best environment to our students!Academies of Math and Science – Nellis CampusSpeech Language Pathologist (SLP)Location: 1780 Betty Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89156Compensation: $77,000 – $85,000 annually (DOE)Start Date: Summer 2026Schedule: Full-Time, On-SitePosition OverviewAcademies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of high-performing public charter schools committed to academic excellence, college readiness, and equitable access to high-quality education for students in historically underserved communities.AMS is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team at the Nellis Campus in Las Vegas.The Speech Language Pathologist plays a critical role in supporting students with speech and language needs, ensuring services are delivered in alignment with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student communication development and academic success.The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and committed to helping all students reach their full potential.Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Assessment & ServicesConduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and assessments for students with communication needs.Provide direct speech and language therapy services in accordance with student IEPs.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with student goals.Monitor student progress and adjust services based on data and student needs.IEP & ComplianceParticipate in multidisciplinary team meetings to determine student eligibility and service needs.Develop, review, and update IEP goals related to speech and language development.Maintain accurate and compliant documentation for all services, evaluations, and case management responsibilities.Prepare and submit all required local, state, and federal reports related to student caseloads.Collaboration & ConsultationCollaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support student success.Serve as a resource to staff and families on speech and language development and interventions.Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals assisting with speech and language services.Support inclusive instructional practices and accommodations for students with communication needs.Family EngagementCommunicate regularly with families regarding student progress and services.Participate in parent meetings, conferences, and IEP reviews.Support families in understanding student needs, services, and communication strategies.RequiredQualifications & CompetenciesMaster’s degree in Speech-Language PathologyCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)Must meet one of the following:Valid Nevada Department of Education (NDE) license as a Speech-Language PathologistNevada Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology, and Hearing Aid Specialists licensure (or ability to obtain prior to start date)Ability to successfully complete required Nevada state background checks and clearancesStrong knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and service deliveryExcellent communication, organization, and documentation skillsPreferredExperience working in a K–8 school settingExperience supporting students in Title I or underserved communitiesExperience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and paraprofessionalsSkills & AttributesStrong attention to detail and compliance requirementsAbility to manage a caseload and prioritize multiple responsibilitiesCollaborative and team-oriented mindsetCompassionate, patient, and student-centered approachStrong problem-solving and communication skillsCompensation & BenefitsAMS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support professional growth and long-term career success.Competitive salary based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement plan with employer contributionsPaid time off (PTO)Disability and life insurancePerformance bonus opportunitiesOngoing professional development and trainingWhy Join AMSMission-driven work supporting underserved communitiesCollaborative and supportive school cultureOpportunities for career growth and advancement within a growing networkMeaningful role making a direct impact on student communication and successJoin us to enjoy rewarding challenges and ongoing opportunities!
