For over 20 years LER has been working with customers across North America to meet their engineering resource challenges.We have a position for an automotive functional safety hardware systems engineer to assist with architecture updates for electronic hardware.What you will be doing:Working on part 5 - Hardware Design Elements of the ISO 26262 standardArchitecture updates for electronic hardware used in automotive powertrain applications where functional safety is requiredDefine architecture linkages between component and feature work where functional safety is requiredWorking with hardware architectural metrics - single-point, latent and probabilistic metricsDefine hardware element classificationCreating FEMA, FMEDA for safety element out of contextUpdating functional safety proceduresUpdating processes to be holisticGenerating functional safety documentationWhat you’ll get:Full benefits: medical, dental, 401K matchOngoing professional development opportunitiesFlexible Hybrid scheduleThe opportunity to work on industry leading projectsWhat you’ll need to be successful:Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or computer engineering disciplineISO 26262 certification is requiredAutomotive powertrain background - engine, EV components, turbo etc. must have functional safety experience with at least one powertrain componentExperience with Hardware Design Elements - part 5 of ISO 26262 is requiredSystems level embedded controls understanding is highly desiredISO 26262 design elements understandingExperience with Medina is highly desiredExperience with engines is highly desired.
