Job Title: The Monson General Store Cashier Part Time Department: The General Store Location: 12 Greenville Rd, Monson, ME Reports To: Monson General Store Manager Status: Non- Exempt Hourly Wage/Salary: $16.00 SUMMARY The Monson General Store has an opening for a year-round, part time position. Monson General Store is a gem in Northern Maine, and our Store is seeing unprecedented growth. We are looking for friendly individuals with great personalities that can work quickly - but not get too stressed - in a fast-paced environment. The General Store Cashier is responsible for meeting and greeting customers offering excellent customer service. Cashing customers out accurately in an efficient manner at The General Store while keeping the Front End clean organized and stocked. Come work in an amazing store, with a great and friendly team. This is a part-time position (less than 30 hours/week) that will require closing shifts (working until 7:00pm) and 1 weekend day of availability (Saturday or Sunday). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Cashiering Handling money Assisting customers in person and over the phone Packaging produce and bulk snack inventory Basic cleaning tasks such as taking trash out, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down counters. Use of knives, box cutters and carts SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong customer service and phone etiquette Basic knowledge of Pineland Farms and departments CERTIFICATIONS LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
