Gifts & Contract Financial Analyst (FINANCIAL ANL 2 CX)

Under the general supervision of the Financial Services Manager, independently provide analytical support for the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH) for fiscal management and analysis concerning endowment, gifts and other funding sources. This role will serve as an internal specialist on policy and procedures for gifts, endowments and other non-operational funding sources. This position will provide financial organization, administration and analytical support by running ad-hoc reports, maintaining Excel spreadsheets and providing monthly financial updates to the Chief Veterinary Medical Officer, Hospital Administrator and Service Chiefs for all gift and endowment funds. Independently investigate questions and use critical thinking skills to analyze complex data and develop meaningful solutions to specific problems to determine appropriate action. Primary responsibility for all contract management (ie. Service and repair, supply, loans), working with VMTH managers and services chiefs, Supply Chain Management staff and outside vendors/clients. Works in a highly independent capacity to support the Financial Services Manager. In the absence of the Financial Services Manager, direct all support staff workflow.RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.Apply By Date: May 11, 2026QualificationsMinimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the positionBachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or finance or equivalent experience.Experience using Excel to perform complex financial analysis including Pivot tables and VLOOKUPS, word processing, email, web-based software and on-line financial and payroll/personnel systems.Accounting experience analyzing, approving and recording financial transactions; and verifying appropriateness of expenditures.Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, along with attention to detail to independently gather information, analyze complex data and formulate summaries on accounts based on data analysis; anticipate and identify problems, perform research, and develop solutions to specific problems.Ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high-volume environment, adapting to changing priorities when needed.Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to prepare clear, accurate correspondence and reports; and to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally in person, by phone and by email to entire department.Provide leadership and decision-making skills to participate in recruitment, selection, and training of personnel.Preferred QualificationsExperience in Aggie Enterprise, Cognos and Veterinary Medical and Administrative Computer System (VMACS). Experience interpreting and applying University and campus policy and procedures, specifically accounting practices and procedures; extramural funds and business contracts. Experience working in a university setting. Knowledge of UC clinical education organizations, respective roles, financial policies and practices as they relate to business operations including budgeting, accounting, extramural funding, business contracts, purchasing, payroll, personnel, and contracting.
