Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital is seeking an experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our emergency department team on a per diem basis. This role offers flexibility, strong physician collaboration, and the opportunity to practice in a busy, community-focused emergency department within a highly respected health system.The advanced practice clinician will provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care to a diverse adult and pediatric population while working collaboratively with emergency medicine physicians, nursing staff, and support services.Primary ResponsibilitiesPerform medical screening exams, patient evaluations, and documentation in the EDDiagnose and manage acute illnesses and injuries across varying acuity levelsOrder, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests including labs, imaging, and EKGsDevelop and implement patient treatment plans in collaboration with attending physiciansPerform procedures appropriate to APC scope of practice (e.g., suturing, splinting, abscess I&D)Provide patient education, discharge instructions, and follow-up planningEnsure compliance with hospital policies, evidence-based guidelines, and regulatory standardsParticipate in multidisciplinary communication to ensure safe, efficient patient careQualificationsGraduate of an accredited PA or NP programCurrent New Jersey license in good standingNational board certification (NCCPA or AANP/ANCC)BLS and ACLS required (PALS preferred or required upon hire)Minimum 1?2 years of EM experience as an APCStrong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skillsAbout the Emergency DepartmentPart of the Virtua Health system and Lourdes Health System campusCollaborative, physician-led care modelAccess to on-site specialty services and advanced diagnostic resourcesCommitment to quality, safety, and patient experience32 ED bedsEpic EMRAdmission rate: 18-20%Interested in learning more?
