What this role is all about:
We are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator in New Lisbon, WI.
The Purchasing Coordinator works with suppliers to ensure all required ingredients, packaging and supplies are on order or in stock. This includes gathering information regarding annual purchase volumes and dollars on core purchases and utilizing MRP to determine purchase requirements. The Purchasing Coordinator issues and follows-up on purchase orders and reviews purchase volumes versus contracted quantities on ingredients and packaging.
Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm (Hybrid)
Job Duties:
Issue purchase orders for all items being used at MHF.
Assist in the negotiation of pricing and ensure that all ordered items will be delivered in a timely and accurate fashion from suppliers.
Create and monitor incoming receipts/receivers for materials coming into MHF.
Regularly monitor MRP and ERP systems to ensure all required items are on order or in inventory as well as for overstocks and move out options for optimal inventory levels.
Maintain MRP system by regularly reviewing and updating item card information: lead times, order multiples, minimum and maximum order quantities, item costing, etc.
Act as primary point of contact for our suppliers and ensure that any issues are quickly and effectively communicated. Manage returns and claims with vendors.
Work alongside Inventory, Warehouse, and Production Planning groups to ensure optimal levels of inventory are maintained.
Collaborate with manager and sourcing team on strategic purchasing initiatives.
Support Quality Assurance by working with suppliers to collect information for review and approval of new and current items as needed.
Contact suppliers by telephone and email to keep up-to-date on opportunities for efficiencies and improvements.
Regularly review actual purchases versus contract amounts to determine contract variance. Keep manager informed of potential issues resulting from exceeding or not meeting contracted amounts.
Education Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain preferred.
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Experience Required:
Minimum three (3) years of experience required.
