Wholesale Non-QM UnderwriterPosition Overview The Wholesale Non-QM Underwriter reviews and underwrites Non-QM mortgage loan applications and property appraisals and evaluates the loans to minimize risk or loss within regulatory guidelines. Ideal candidates for this position will be experienced underwriting Non-QM loans, highly detail-oriented, and familiar with loan program guidelines.Essential Functions of the RoleAnalyze and underwrite Non-QM mortgage loans within compliance guidelines and approved seller variances.Manage loan conditions and provide recommendations for underwriting waiver and eligibility exceptions.Communicate with loan originators and processors regarding loan status, approvals, suspensions, denials, and conditions.Maintain a pipeline of loans adhering to posted service level agreements.Remain current on loan program requirements and review documents for compliance.Other duties as assigned.Classification Full Time, Non-ExemptEssential Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of regulatory requirements (RESPA, TILA, etc.)Strong communication skillsExcellent organizational skillsHighly detail-orientedAbility to work across organizational boundariesStrong decision making skillsAdvanced problem solving capabilitiesStrong critical thinking skillsProven ability to prioritize and multi-taskUnderstanding of Non-QM productsExperience RequirementsMinimum of five (5) years of mortgage underwriting experience required.Minimum of three (3) years of underwriting Non-QM loans with complex income analysis required.National bond program experience preferred.Education / Licensing RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
