Maple Ave Tempe AZ 85283Full-Time | Inpatient Behavioral Health HospitalAurora Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and motivated AHCCCS Specialist / Financial Counselor to join our inpatient team. This position plays a vital role in supporting patients and families throughout their hospitalization by assisting with AHCCCS eligibility, applications, and financial counseling from admission through discharge.The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly on inpatient units, communicating with patients, collaborating with clinical teams, and managing the full AHCCCS application and follow-up process from start to finish.ResponsibilitiesMeet with patients directly on inpatient units to assess insurance and financial needsComplete and submit AHCCCS applications and supporting documentationFollow applications throughout the entire hospitalization process until determination is finalizedMaintain communication with patients, families, case management, admissions, and clinical staff regarding eligibility statusAssist uninsured or underinsured patients with financial resources and coverage optionsEnsure accurate and timely documentation within hospital systemsVerify benefits, eligibility, and insurance informationMaintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and hospital policiesProvide excellent customer service while working with behavioral health patients in a fast-paced environmentQualificationsExperience with AHCCCS eligibility and application processes preferredPrevious financial counseling, healthcare admissions, behavioral health, or hospital experience preferredStrong communication and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and manage follow-through on multiple cases simultaneouslyComfortable working within an inpatient psychiatric hospital settingKnowledge of insurance verification and healthcare coverage processes preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent required; additional healthcare or insurance experience preferredWhat We're Looking ForCompassionate and patient-centered approachStrong follow-up and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teamsProfessionalism, reliability, and attention to detailJoin a team dedicated to making a difference in the lives of patients and families during critical moments of care.#INDHIGH
