JOB TITLE: Principal/CEO for the 2026-2027 School YearCALENDAR: 236 daysLOCATION: Bartow College and Career AcademyJOB DESCRIPTION:* Establish and maintain a clear focus on learning that includes high expectations ofinstructional quality, and clearly defined achievement outcomes for all students* Manage, evaluate, and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation andfunctioning of the school* Ensure compliance with all laws, board policies, and civil regulations* Establish the annual master schedule for instructional programs, ensuring sequential learning experiences for students consistent with the school's philosophy, mission statement,and instructional goals* Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of curriculum, and evaluate instructional programs through observing classes (teaching, as duties allow) on a regular basis to encourage use of a variety of instructional strategies and materials consistent with research on learning andchild growth and development* Supervise staff and faculty in a fair and consistent manner* Interview and recommend applicants for employment according to federal, state, and countypolicies and proceduresEnsure a safe, orderly school environmentFile all required reports regarding violence, vandalism, attendance, and discipline matters and notify appropriate officials per Mandatory Reporter protocolsDisplay the highest ethical and professional behavior and standards when working with students, parents, and school personnelResearch and collect data regarding the needs of studentsEstablish and maintain an effective inventory system for all school supplies, materials, andequipmentSupervise the maintenance and operation of all school facilities and groundsAssume responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of students, employees, and visitorsDevelop a school budget, accounts for school funds, and administers all budget relatedmatters according to established state and county regulations and guidelines* Develop clearly understood procedures and provide regular drills for emergencies anddisasters* Ensure that all CTAE programs are of high quality, industry certified, and operating with equipment that is safe, operational, and of industry standard* Work collaboratively with post-secondary institutions, the Georgia Department of Education, Chamber of Commerce, and other community organizations while monitoringDual Enrollment programs and Articulation Agreements with educational and workforce* Coordinate with base high schools to ensure students and staff are aligned on fundamental student policy, academic standards, and expectations* Use effective presentation skills when addressing students, staff, parents, and thecommunity including appropriate vocabulary and examples, clear and legible visuals, and articulate and audible speechMaintain and account for all student activity funds and money collected from studentsEstablish procedures for safe storing and integrity of all public and confidential schoolEnsure that student records are complete and correctProtect confidentiality of records and informationMaintain prompt and regular attendancePerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of three years administrator experienceMust hold L6, Georgia PSC Tier II Leadership certification OR master's degree and eligible for/enrolled in a Tier II Leadership Specialist/Doctorate program.Minimum five years teaching experienceStrong organizational and communication skills (oral and written)The Bartow County Board of Education reserves the right to accept equivalent qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate and acceptable.The Bartow County School System does not discriminate on the basis of age, sex, race, color, national origin or disability in its educational programs, activities or employment practices.
