Technical and Trade SchoolsVocational Rehabilitation ServicesAutomobile DealersHardware, and Plumbing and Heating Equipment and Supplies Merchant WholesalersMachinery, Equipment, and Supplies Merchant WholesalersJob DescriptionAs a Technician I for Engineering/Plastics, you will be responsible for building up and disassembling a variety of pipes, fitting configurations and other related plumbing products to specific standards and procedures.Responsibilities Perform basic laboratory work with minimal supervision after each training is completed Maintaining/organizing assigned workload and meet specific due dates Buildup and disassembly of pipe and fittings sizes ½”-20” OD Assist senior staff with ongoing projects as needed Receive continuous trainings Cross-train in other lab areas to alleviate the workload when high sample volumes are experienced. Maintain a clean work environment and 6s areas Assure adherence to all safety and health policies and procedures Perform other duties as requested Qualifications High school diploma/GED required Good verbal and written communication skills Highly motivated in completing assignments correctly and on schedule Great attention to detail Basic knowledge of PC/Windows software and Microsoft Office Suites (Excel, Word) Understanding of basic tool use (wrenches, mallets, drills, saws, etc.) Organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work well independently and in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in scientific discipline and or Trade Laboratory experience and/or college level laboratory coursework Familiarity with measuring instruments (caliper, pi tape, ruler, micrometer, balance) Familiarity with plumbing products Mechanical aptitude Physical Demands Light to heavy physical effort required Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs Standing for long periods of time is necessary - ~98% lab work 2% desk work Safety glasses and steel toes must always be worn in lab areas Proper PPE (gloves, hard hats, face shields) needed during specific testing About UsWith a legacy spanning more than 80 years, NSF leverages science and innovation to improve human and planet health.
