Communications Intern

Join our Oak Creek, WI team as a Communications Intern! Our internships are hands on and designed to let you see what it's like to work at Astronautics. This is a paid undergraduate intern opportunity. As a communications intern, you will work closely with our communications and human resources staff. Our summer intern program consists of at least 10 weeks of real world experience in a professional environment.Mentors are assigned to assist interns in achieving engineering related career development that is of mutual benefit to you and Astronautics. Our internship program includes events and opportunities to meet other interns and employees across the organization.This role will also provide an opportunity for professional development that results in contribution to the on-going business needs of Astronautics.Position ResponsibilitiesMaintain communication processes, procedures, and supporting documentationWrite feature articles and spotlight pieces for the weekly email update and websiteResearch and create presentation materials for STEM outreach activitiesDraft press releasesUpdate and create marketing materialSupport upcoming trade showCollaborate with team on new ideas for marketing and communicationAttend weekly departmental meetingsOther duties to be assignedDesired SkillsStrong communication, analytical, organizational and problem solving skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentCapability of working independently with limited oversightEducation And ExperienceRequired Qualifications:Sophomore/Junior/Senior standing majoring in Journalism, Marketing/Communications, Public Relations, or English from an accredited institutionProficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Effective written and oral communication skillsProfessional communicator with both internal and external audiencesSelf-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multitask, and meet deadlinesMinimum cumulative GPA of 2.5/4.0Able to work full-time during the summerEligible to work in the United States without sponsorshipDesired QualificationsCumulative grade point average of 3.0 or aboveKnowledge of Word Press, video, and graphic design a plusAbility to work part-time during the school yearWho We AreJoin a team that designs computers, displays, and electronic systems for aircraft of the future!
