OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for an Network Engineer to support modernization efforts. This position will be located in Langley AFB in Hampton, VA and will be a full time onsite position.ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and support the organization’s network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of wired and wireless networks across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and network optimization, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in fast‑paced environmentsDesign, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network environmentsConfigure and support routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VLANsManage firewalls, VPN solutions, and network security technologiesMonitor network performance and availability; perform proactive capacity planning and optimizationTroubleshoot complex network issues and lead root-cause analysisImplement network upgrades, patches, and configuration changesCollaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to support cross-functional initiativesMaintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and standardsSupport network automation, scripting, and orchestration efforts where applicableQualificationsHIgh School diploma and 9+ years (or commensurate experience)Required Skills And ExperienceClearance Required: TS/SCI Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and network security best practicesHands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, etc.)Proficiency with network tools for monitoring, diagnostics, and performance analysisUnderstanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, and STPExperience with VPN technologies, including IPsec and SSLAbility to analyze network traffic and troubleshoot latency, connectivity, and performance issues Experience with hybrid environments and enterprise IT solutions DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+,CND)Preferred Skills And ExperienceCertifications: ITIL, MCSE, VCP, CCNP, HP, SSL, or other relevant IT certifications.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields. Technical background in networkingExperience with DoD Networks (NIPR, SIPR and JWICS)#NSS#ARPosted Salary Range: USD $120,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
