Estate Planning Paralegal

Small, established estate planning law firm in Austin is looking for a skilled paralegal to join our team. You’ll work on drafting estate planning documents, managing client relationships, and improving our internal systems. Our work includes basic estate planning as well as sophisticated tax planning, and there is an opportunity to learn and grow in this role. Much of the work will be independent and self-driven, with supervision and collaboration with our attorneys. We have a part-time paralegal who works with our probate/estate administration practice, and our new paralegal might have some overflow or independent probate tasks in addition to estate planning.We are looking for someone with strong writing, proofreading, and organizational skills. Experience creating and documenting systems and workflows is preferred.To Apply:Please send a resume and a brief cover letter to hiring@texasprobate.com, sharing a little about your experience and what draws you to this role. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure that we can evaluate your application. Job duties will include:Create initial drafts of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents using firm softwareMaintain and organize client files using Clio and other toolsCoordinate document signings and track deadlinesPrint and prepare documents for signing, and process signed documents to create final packagesAssist with estate tax returns and gift tax returnsCommunicate with clients in a professional, compassionate mannerHelp maintain and refine form templates and processesAssist attorneys with email correspondence and calendar managementAssisting with probate or trust administration mattersQualifications At least 3 years of paralegal experience, ideally in estate planning and/or probate lawExcellent writing, grammar, and document formatting skillsProficient with legal practice software (Clio preferred)Comfortable learning new technologyHighly organized and detail-orientedAble to manage multiple clients and deadlinesStrong empathy and discretionSchedule & Work EnvironmentFull-time, 40 hours/weekHybrid: at least 3 days per week in our Austin officeSmall, collaborative team environmentWe OfferSalary: Starting range $60,000-$70,000, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate with significant estate planning experiencePTO, holidays, 401k match, and potential for bonusesPaid family leaveOpportunity to help shape the future of a small, client-focused firmAn inclusive, supportive workplaceWe will require a background check and completion of a skills evaluation as part of the hiring process.
