Membership Growth & Engagement Manager

Position Overview This role is responsible for driving intentional membership growth for both the Rotary Club and Foundation of Cincinnati. Growth strategy is set by the Executive Director, Executive Team, and Boards; this individual owns execution.This person will manage the membership pipeline and ensure consistent follow-up, clear ownership, and forward movement of every prospect. They will also act as an extension of the Executive Director, helping move priorities forward across committees, volunteers, and leadership.This is a hands-on role. It requires someone who will step in, figure things out, and ensure consistent progress in a volunteer-led organization, helping maintain momentum and follow-through across competing priorities.A key component of this role is marketing and communications, taking ideas from the Executive Director and turning them into clear, well-executed campaigns that drive membership growth, event participation, and increased visibility for both the Club and the Foundation.This is not a role that requires day-to-day direction. The right candidate will take ownership, move work forward independently, and follow through without needing reminders.Membership Growth & Pipeline Management • Own and manage the full membership pipeline (currently tracked via spreadsheet; evolving tools) • Ensure every guest and prospective member is followed up with within 48 hours • Maintain clear visibility into where every prospect sits and next steps • Identify and assign follow-up actions to appropriate stakeholders • Improve and maintain a simple, repeatable processVolunteer Coordination & Accountability • Work closely with Membership Committee and leadership to drive execution • Motivate and follow up with volunteers to ensure commitments are completed • Provide clear direction and reinforce accountability • Step in and execute when needed to keep momentum movingExecutive Director Support & Communication • Draft and send emails on behalf of the Executive Director • Communicate with committee chairs, board members, and prospects • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all communicationMarketing, Communications & Campaign Execution • Develop and execute marketing campaigns from concept through completion, aligned with membership growth and fundraising goals • Translate Executive Director ideas into coordinated marketing campaigns, including social media content, flyers, email campaigns, newsletters, and event communications; partner with the Social Media Committee and step in to execute for larger initiatives or when needed • Draft and send email campaigns, newsletters, and event communications • Ensure consistent voice, branding, and positioning across both the Club and Foundation • Track engagement and adjust efforts to improve reach and effectivenessFoundation Visibility & Fundraising Support • Support fundraising initiatives for the Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati through coordinated marketing and outreach • Increase visibility of the Foundation within the Cincinnati business community • Assist in positioning the Foundation’s impact to attract donors, partners, and members • Support promotion of key fundraising events, sponsorships, and campaigns • Ensure clear and compelling communication of the Foundation’s mission and impactEvents & Engagement • Attend weekly Rotary meetings as needed to support membership growth, guest engagement, and follow-up • Be present at meetings where prospective members or key guests are attending • Ensure all guests are captured, introduced, and followed up with appropriately • Attend Membership Committee meetings • Support guest experience and follow-up tied to meetings and events • Assist with event promotion related to membership growth and fundraisingOperations & Execution • Help strengthen standard operating procedures • Manage timelines and ensure priorities are executed on schedule • Jump in wherever needed to ensure outcomes are achievedWhat Success Looks Like (First 90 Days) • 100% of guests and prospects followed up within 48 hours • Clear, accurate, consistently updated membership pipeline • No dropped follow-ups or stalled prospects • Improved follow-through from volunteers • Consistent, high-quality marketing campaigns supporting membership and fundraising • Increased visibility of the Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati • Work is executed independently without the need for day-to-day direction or follow-up • Executive Director time freed up from coordinationIdeal Candidate • Highly organized and process-driven • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Comfortable engaging with executives and community leaders • Proactive, reliable, and follows through without reminders • Able to take direction and run with it without ongoing guidance • Able to motivate volunteers without formal authority • Strong judgment in managing priorities and communication • Willing to do both strategic and administrative work • Comfortable in a fast-moving, evolving role• Goal-oriented with a demonstrated track record of delivering measurable outcomesPosition Details • Part-time (approximately 80 hours per month) • Flexible schedule • Reports directly to Executive Director • Supports both Rotary Club and Rotary Foundation of Cincinnati
