The Network Administrator will be able to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation.
What's a successful candidate look like?
The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the design and integrity of the internal systems, including customer-facing hosted and cloud environments, as well as providing technical assistance to team members with network requests. The Network Administrator's role is to ensure the stable operation of the networks. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The Network Administrator will be able to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation.
Strong experience with Fortinet Firewalls, Switches, and Routers is needed to be able to advance to the next level of this role through an Apprenticeship.
Basic Functions & Skills:
Previous experience with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and routers preferred
Hands-on experience in networking, routing, and switching
Previous experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, and 2019 preferred
Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols
Computer proficiency and understanding of various types of hardware
Maintaining computer networks and systems including software, mainframes, VPNs, routers, and other physical hardware
Communicating networking issues to other employees and management, especially in training new users
Technical services and support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security
Remote Access experience
Business awareness: specific knowledge of the client and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals
Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
Understand processes in the ticketing system by completing assigned training materials and blueprints online
Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry
Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability
Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues
Ability to multitask and adapt to changes quickly
Experience with firewalls, Internet VPN’s remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
Familiarity with backup and recovery software and methodologies
Requirements:
Ability to work in the United States without a current or future need for sponsorship
5 or more years of IT experience
2+ years of proven hands-on experience in a network administrator role
Professional IT Certifications related to networking
Previous experience with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and routers preferred
Ability to work onsite at the office in Springdale, AR
