Solid Waste Attendant

JOB Completion of the eighth grade; or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen & physical examination and successful completion of all applicable background checks pre-hire and ongoing are required. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES This is responsible manual work in the inspection and disposal of refuse, and the monitoring of recycling, household hazardous waste and the reuse area at the County's Collection Centers.An employee assigned to this classification ensures that refuse, recycling and household hazardous waste entering the collection centers as well as items left for the reuse area, are acceptable, sorted properly, and of an acceptable daily volume.Work is performed without direct supervision but is under the direction of a higher level supervisor and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of results obtained.
