Description
Come be a part of our award-winning, nationally accredited Parks and Recreation team! There are a variety of driving opportunities within the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. Explore the possibilities below and make your selections within the application.
Concessions: Responsible for transportation of all food, beverage, and supplies to a variety of park facilities and special events. Other responsibilities could include concession stand operations, product ordering, and inventory. Will operate a refrigerated box truck.
SPARC: Provide transportation for elementary and middle school-aged youth during SPARC summer day camp to-and-from field trips, parks, and pools. Other duties could include light cleaning and assisting with camp operations such as snacks and refreshments. Will operate a 71-passenger school bus. Requires a CDL.
Tram Operation at the Springfield Botanical Center (Nathanael Greene Close Memorial Park): Provide an excellent guest experience by driving a 20-passenger tram and trailer and giving garden information for guided tours through the Springfield Botanical Gardens at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park. Assist patrons on and off the tram, as needed. Light preventative maintenance and upkeep of the tram is required.
Parks Shuttle Buses: Provide transportation for seniors and accessible recreation programs, as assigned. Will assist guests of varying ages and abilities. Must be able to operate wheelchair lift. Could drive for a variety of other Springfield-Greene County Parks Board events and programs, as needed. Will operate up to a 34-passenger shuttle bus. Requires a CDL.
Qualifications and Requirements
Experience, Education, and Training
For School Bus and Shuttle Bus Operation:
Previous experience driving a school bus or shuttle bus is required, as assigned.
For Tram Operation and Box Truck Operation:
Previous experience in driving tram hauler, as assigned;
Experience operating the assigned vehicle.
Licensing/Certification
For tram, must possess a valid Missouri Motor Vehicle Operator's License and required insurance;
For concessions assignment, must possess a valid Missouri Class E Chauffer License.
For Bus Driver assignment, must possess a valid CDL Class B with passenger, school bus and/or air break endorsements required for some assignments.
