Job DescriptionCTR Group is seeking experienced CNC Machinists for a Direct-hire placement with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in Maine. These roles support high-precision machining of complex components in a clean, safety-focused environment.What We Offer:Direct Placement opportunity with competitive compensation offering.Stable, long-term career opportunityComprehensive Benefits PackageSafety First!Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling and turning centers to produce precision aerospace and defense componentsInterpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, tool lists, and work instructionsSelect and install cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding for materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and InconelAdjust feeds, speeds, and offsets to maintain strict tolerance requirementsPerform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision toolsDeburr and finish parts to aerospace standardsDocument production data, inspections, and process steps in the ERP systemSet up and run both proven and unproven parts, including medium- to high-complexity componentsSupport prototype, first-article, and experimental machining effortsCollaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and improve manufacturabilityParticipate in continuous improvement and lean initiativesMaintain a clean, organized, audit-ready work areaTechnical Skills & Knowledge5 Axis Machining Experience RequiredStrong understanding of aerospace drawings, GD&T, and customer specificationsProven ability to hold tight tolerances and work with precision componentsProficiency using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, etc.)Solid math skills, including fractions, decimals, and basic geometryWorking knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing documentation practicesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machining processesFamiliarity with first article inspections (FAI) and quality documentation is a plusUnderstanding of AS9100, ITAR, or other regulated manufacturing environments is preferredAbout CTR Group: CTR Group operates in the staffing and recruitment industry, Nationwide for over 35 years.
