Staff Accountant
Position PurposeThe Staff Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Staff Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Staff Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms general accounting and other related duties in the accounting departmentVerify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivableAnalyze financial information and summarize financial statusSpot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spendingProvide technical support and advice on Management AccountantReview and recommend modifications to accounting systems and proceduresParticipate in financial standards setting and in forecast processProvide input into department's goal setting processPrepare financial statements and produce budget according to scheduleAssist with tax audits and tax returnsDirect internal and external audits to ensure complianceSupport month-end and year-end close process.Ensure compliance with GAAP principlesAssists with month end close and board report preparationMaintains the general ledger, including account reconciliationsMonitors Accounts Payable and Purchasing ensuring proper codingProcess direct deposit paymentsCalculate and deposit payroll taxesProcess and issue annual W-2 forms to employeesProperly code payroll within the general ledgerAssists with payroll coding and recoding throughout the yearMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required and / or3+ years of accounting experience requiredProficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software; experience with Abila, is preferredAbility to accept assignments, follow procedures and work without constant supervisionMust have the ability to deal with people in a professional mannerMust be able to maintain complete confidentialityIn-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tablesBenefitsMedical Insurance; low individual premiumsChild Inc Employer Paid BenefitsVisionDentalShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityLife Insurance PolicyEmployee Assistance Program all paid for by Child Inc.401k with employer contribution$300 a year for gym membershipsJob Posted by ApplicantPro
