The PENTA Building Group is searching for Senior Project Engineers with hospitality or healthcare construction project experience to join our team in Phoenix, AZ!
A PENTA Senior Project Engineer is primarily responsible for coordinating, filing, tracking, logging, and communicating information and documentation on a project. The Senior Project Engineer will provide both technical and administrative assistance to the Project Manager and Superintendent as required.
A PENTA Senior Project Engineer will also:
Maintain and distribute project documents including drawings, specifications, correspondence, meeting minutes, and progress photographs.
Thoroughly review contract documents, submittals, and shop drawings and ensure coordination/conflict resolution among various scopes of work.
Assist with developing a fully coordinated virtual model for construction with input from the project Superintendent and the VDC Engineer.
Review, prepare, and maintain Requests for Information and logs.
Review construction schedule, prepare submittal register, submittal logs/procurement logs, identify critical path submittal/procurement items, and track and maintain submittal approvals and material procurement/delivery.
Manage the descope and buyout process and understand scope delineations.
Develop Project specific QA/QC plan with assistance from the QA/QC Managers.
Identify field issues and work with AOR/EOR/Subcontractors to resolve them.
Develop detailed schedules with timelines and assist in evaluating work progress.
Understand Sequence with details, durations, and production rates.
Perform quantity take offs and prepare estimates.
Price, issue, and track potential change orders from start to finish.
Review drawing revisions, RFIs, and submittal comments and coordinate changes on a timely basis for schedule and cost impact.
Participate in work package bids, perform scope analysis, and assist in issuing subcontracts.
Track, resolve, and close NCRs on a timely basis.
Help manage the project budget and help with project cost control and forecasting.
Assist Project Manager in preparing monthly project financial reports.
Help coordinate the project schedule with the Superintendent.
Help process subcontractor pay requests.
Prepare and lead project close out process, including Owner training, O&Ms, as-builts, permits, etc.
Manage and track punch list completion with the Superintendent.
Promote the company’s safety culture by understanding OSHA requirements & the company's safety policies and procedures.

We trust that you have:
3-6 years of experience
Minimum 1-2 years of experience working on hospitality or healthcare construction projects
Degree in Construction Management or a related field
OSHA 10 or 30 Certification is a plus
Fluency in reading, quantifying, and analyzing construction drawings
Competent understanding of construction scheduling and sequencing
Strong verbal and written communication, and strong organizational and time management
Demonstrated ability to adapt well to changes in assignments and priorities
Proven ability to adapt behavior or work methods in response to new information or conditions
Experience with follow-up and monitoring of work to ensure quality standards and attention to detail
A positive attitude and team player mindset
