The Billing Specialist effectively utilizes the clinic billing system to capture and follow-up on receivables timely, according to payer specific contracts. Maintains partnerships with appropriate staff and departments to ensure optimal working relationships. Variation of duties may result based on the assigned duties. Requirements Education High school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED) required. Associates degree preferred. Experience Two years office or collections experience in health care, preferable in clinic or hospital billing, claims resolution, and customer service. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Demonstrates problem-solving, critical thinking, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills at an advanced level. Computer skills to include Microsoft Office. Knowledge of industry standards and payer requirements. Knowledge of computer billing systems and other office computer systems. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to achieve outcomes. Takes personal responsibility for remarkable performance and inspiring teamwork. Licensure/Certification None required.
