Position SummaryThis position is responsible for designing graphics and animation for marketing and sales materials, merchandise, broadcast and in-game use. Projects will incorporate Connecticut Sun and New England Black Wolves players, coaches, fans as well as sponsors. The role also includes assisting with production duties such as producing, writing, and video production projects as assigned. In addition, the incumbent will support and help shape the development of concepts, designs, and the production of a variety of projects including print, online, broadcast, social media, logos, presentations, and more.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesIncludes but is not limited to:2D & Design Responsibilities/RequirementsDesign motion graphics and titles utilizing After Effects, Illustrator and/or Photoshop (Adobe Suite)Understand typographic, layout, composition, color theory, and information design principlesPhoto manipulation; resize, crop, add/remove objects, color correctKnowledge in designing static & animated ads for web, social, email, etc.Computer skills required: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook); Adobe Creative Services Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects); Apple Mac OSX platformCMYK printing processes & productionEdits video features utilizing Adobe Premiere for the Connecticut Sun and New England Black WolvesWorks with agency to assist in the creation of all graphics, collateral, images and other projectsAssists in updating website graphics, including banners, cover photos, web ads, etc. for both teamsWeb Design Responsibilities/RequirementsExperience with front-end development: HTML5 (semantic), CSS3, JavaScript (ES6)Experience with SVG animationsExperience with CMSBonus if you have experience with: microdata, meta tags for SEO, Node.js, React with hooks, Jest unit testing3D & Motion Graphics Responsibilities/RequirementsDesign and animate dynamic 2D and 3D motion graphics used in all aspects of in-arena video productions (e.g., videoboards, ribbon signage, internal displays, and video productions)Build all motion graphics for CT SUN brand including headshots, interactive graphics packages, lower thirds, team highlight videos, corporate partner activations, etc.Build sponsored and branded LED and video board content for in-arenaConceptualize and manage the development and implementation of a wide variety of broadcast design vehicles including title opens, logo designs, transitions, in-game features, bumps, teases, LED fascia animations, various digital content, etc.Work with the Content Team made up of shooters, editors and producers to create projects that improve the overall brand and productImplement, execute and maintain graphic elements and packages used across CT SUN content plansProactively supply creative ideas while demonstrating desire to push designs and animations to the next levelIntertwine video with motion graphics and animation to create immersive and entertaining contentSecondary Duties and ResponsibilitiesAdditional duties as assignedMinimum Education and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Film, Communications, Art or a related fieldProficiency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointPrevious experience with FTP and file-sharing websites both in software and web interfacesStrong organizational skills, time-management skills, and attention to detailAbility to brainstorm and collaborate on creative ideas with staffAbility to meet aggressive deadlines and work well under pressureAbility to work independently without supervision, is self-directed, and demonstrates initiativeOffers creative ideas and suggestionsExperience with front-end development: HTML5 (semantic), CSS3, JavaScript (ES6)Experience with SVG animationsExperience with CMSBonus if you have experience with: microdata, meta tags for SEO, Node.js, React with hooks, Jest unit testingIn lieu of a degree and previously mentioned experience, six years of experience working with graphic design may be consideredCompetenciesCreative development and the execution of promotionsUnderstanding of advertising and the use of social mediaTraining RequirementsKnowledge of all programs and applications related to video editing and web developmentPhysical Demands and Work EnvironmentMust be able to stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to lift and move equipment, bags and supplies that may be in excess of 50 lbs.Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidaysThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements, or working conditions associated with this job.
