Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products. The ideal candidate will have strong woodworking skills and an eye for detail. This position is responsible for delivering cabinets that are secure and aesthetically pleasing, meeting very specific guidelines. While working alongside other members of our building team, this individual will be able to put their carpentry skills to use in an environment where their experience and insight will be sincerely valued.ResponsibilitiesConstruct and assemble cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and clientVerify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, always using blueprints or design plans for referenceClean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding toolsBe exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently and the projects will meet budgetary restrictionsInstall the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when neededMatch materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching unitsReinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionalityMaintain a safe working environment by cleaning and disposing of old materials, such as nails and screwsRequirementsProven experience as CabinetmakerHands-on experience in working with carpentry and cabinetry materialsProficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)Ability to read technical documents and drawingsWillingness to follow safety guidelines at all timesGood knowledge of EnglishGood understanding of basic mathGood physical condition and enduranceHigh school diplomaPhysical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
