The position will be responsible for revenue related processes and technical accounting, including assisting with the valuation of unconsolidated investees. The responsibilities will be focused on revenue recognition for all product lines at the company, including month end revenue reporting. The position will also assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, as well as the preparation of the Company's quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements. We are looking for someone with a strong accounting background, and a keen eye for detail, who is excited to make an impact, add value, and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced, ever-growing environment.Strategic & TacticalOwn end-to-end revenue accounting processes, including model validation, close, reporting, and audit support, serving as the primary point of contact for all revenue-related mattersEnsure proper accounting for revenue arrangements, including detailed analysis of complex financial models. As part of this responsibility, the following are critical items that will need to be completed:Review and documentation of key assumptions used in financial modelsPreparation of process documentation of all revenue arrangementsPreparation of internal revenue models used for valuationCash reconciliation processCustomer risk reviewPerform detailed variance analysis on revenue, cash, and key drivers, and investigate discrepancies across models, sub-ledgers, and the general ledgerCollaborate with various internal teams to develop and implement policies for recognizing revenue from renewable energy projects, adhering to ASC 606Drive month-end close processes for timely and accurate reporting, including:Preparation of reconciliations and other close items as necessaryPreparation of revenue accruals and estimatesPreparation of fund accruals and estimatesOwn and enhance key controls over revenue recognition, ensuring audit readiness throughout the year and proactively addressing control gapsDocument relevant technical accounting matters, including analysis of new business initiativesIdentify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting processes, with a focus on leveraging industry-specific software and toolsDesign and implement scalable processes to support growth in transaction volume and complexity across revenue streamsPartner on initiatives to improve the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting, including the implementation of new accounting standards and systemsAssist with the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry-specific standardsSupport in the preparation and support of external audits, including the documentation and testing of key controlsCollaborate or own special projects as necessaryServe as liaison between accounting and finance teams QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in AccountingCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent required4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to financial modelingCapable of succeeding in a fast-paced environment; ability to work comfortably with senior managementStrong planning and organizational skillsProficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skillsStrong understanding of GAAP accounting principlesHigh degree of attention to detail and analytic abilitiesAbility to work independently and prioritize tasksFamiliar with systems similar to our tech stack, which includes NetSuite, Adaptive, Google suite of products and moreEmployment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.Equal Employment OpportunityPalmetto embraces diversity and is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
