Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children is Hawai'i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is well recognized as Hawai'i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 253 beds, the not-for-profit hospital delivers 6,000 babies a year, and is also a medical teaching and research facility. The hospital is home to the Kapi'olani Women’s Center and the Women’s Cancer Center, and offers numerous community programs and services, such as specialty pediatric clinics, the Kapi'olani Child Protection Center and the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.The Family Birth Center at Kapi‘olani is dedicated to providing quality, comprehensive and family-centered obstetrical care, specializing in high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery. This department is composed of the Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum and Nursery units and provides tertiary, level III perinatal services as well as obstetrical care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients. The team of professional staff at the Family Birth Center supports and educates patients and families to facilitate the optimal health of both mothers and newborns. Kapi‘olani is recognized as Hawai‘i's leader in the care of women and children and the major teaching hospital for the state’s OB/GYN programs.As the Surgical Technologist, you will join our award-winning Surgery team and help to provide life-changing health care interventions to our patients. You will perform surgical scrub duties and maintain sterile techniques for all surgical procedures, as well as prepare the operating room, equipment and instruments for surgery while maintaining aseptic techniques. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. Current Certified Surgical Technologist with the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) OR Certified Surgical Technologist Certification with National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
