This full-time position requires a commitment to creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that supports the diverse needs of all learners.Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state standards and curriculum guidelines.- Teach a range of ELA courses, including literature, composition, and language arts, to students in grades 6-12.- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.- Assess student progress through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations, and provide constructive feedback.- Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enhance student learning.- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration regarding student performance and classroom activities.- Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions, writing assignments, and group activities.- Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.- Uphold the values and mission of Oakville MS/HS while promoting respect, responsibility, and academic integrity among students.Requirements- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.- Valid teaching certification in English Language Arts for middle and high school levels.- Proven experience teaching ELA at the middle or high school level, with a strong understanding of curriculum development preferred.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.- Proficiency in using technology and digital resources to enhance instruction and engage students.- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.- Knowledge of current educational practices and trends in English Language Arts education.- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the overall success of the school community.
