Tooling Engineer

Job Title: Tooling Engineer Location: Ripon,WI Job Type: Full-Time Overview: We are seeking a talented and dedicated Tooling Engineer to join our team. The Tooling Engineer will be responsible for creating, documenting, developing, and implementing procedures for tooling our innovative products. This role is pivotal in improving manufacturing processes and ensuring product quality while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Enhance overall processes and address related issues, focusing on process development. Schedule and create comprehensive process documentation. Lead problem-solving initiatives and manage various programs. Design, install, and debug tooling and capital equipment. Obtain tooling quotes and coordinate sourcing, construction, and trials. Develop and troubleshoot stamping processes, specifying necessary forming and stamping equipment. Provide engineering resources and support to other departments as needed. Adhere to quality system procedures and standards. Design and develop manufacturing tooling and fixtures, providing clear sketches and instructions to tool construction personnel. Investigate and analyze tooling, processing, assembly, and sequencing challenges, initiating corrective actions as required. Collaborate closely with product and process teams to design, install, and launch robust processes, including conducting process sign-off activities and production pilots. Participate in problem resolution teams to drive continuous improvement. Develop specifications and analyze supplier quotations for purchasing new production equipment, including entire manufacturing lines. Troubleshoot daily assembly and press shop issues to support ongoing production needs. Act as the liaison with R&D to ensure manufacturability of components prior to release. Serve as the contact person for Engineering Change Notice (ECN) implementation. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Knowledge/Experience: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Pro E, SolidWorks) is required. Journeyman Tool and Die experience is a plus. Die Design experience is preferred. Strong understanding of stamping and molding design applications. Familiarity with equipment and systems relevant to the discipline. Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures. Skills and Abilities: Expertise in applying engineering principles and procedures. Strong skills in engineering design applications. Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written. A commitment to personal and operational excellence, with a focus on continuous improvement. Drive to achieve world-class performance standards. Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of equivalent experience. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods, stand, and perform manual dexterity tasks, including stooping, bending, and minimal lifting. Must-Have Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field OR 8 years of equivalent experience. Experience in CAD software (AutoCAD, Pro E, SolidWorks).
