Overview
TheAdministrative Assistantwill be responsible for supporting the shipment of major modules and Kits from Quonset to Groton, Newport News or the UK by updating records in the shipyard discrepancy control system (7G). These records include, but are not limited to: Test Forms, Test Inspection Reports (TIR), ripouts, clean area logs and heat monitoring logs. This position will also status and update controlled pipe joints (CPJ) prior to analytical acceptance. In addition, there will be filing of completed records.
Responsibilities of this role include
Accurately review and process a high volume of data into the Shipyard Discrepancy Control System, 7G, in support of key events
Support various administrative tasks within MS Word, Excel, Power-Point and Adobe
Attention to detail is essential due to the processing and the heavy volume of multiple documents
Interfaces with various levels of management
Cross-Training of office functions will be expected to ensure full coverage of responsibilities
Organization, storage, and maintenance of hard copy and electronic certification records files

Qualifications
Required
5+ years of administrative/clerical experience or an Associate of Art (AA)/Associate of Science (AS)
Must be available to work a 2nd shift schedule
Based on the ships schedule, must be willing and able to work an alternate schedule including weekends as required to support business need.
Strong typing/data entry skills needed and satisfactory demonstration of keyboarding ability, 45 WPM or greater
Intermediate skills within Microsoft Office Suite
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs
Demonstrated ability to perform in a role that required a high level of trust and integrity
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Preferred
2+ years of QA or deckplate construction support experience
BA in English, or related degree
Advanced computer skills that are transferableto this position
Experience with EBs electronic systems (Electronic Desktop, 7G, MRPII, CPJ, MQS, JCALS, Plateau, MS Office Suite)
