Junior Estimator

Junior Estimator – Heavy Civil, Highway & ConstructionIOC Company, LLC is currently seeking a Junior Estimator for our South Texas Region. This role will support the estimating team in all aspects of the bidding process, including quantity take-offs, data entry, and coordination with internal teams and subcontractors. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to build a career in heavy civil construction. This position is based in our Mission, Texas office.Position Summary:The primary objective of this role is to assist in the preparation of cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including roadway and transportation infrastructure work.Key Tasks and Responsibilities: Assist with quantity take-offs from plans and specificationsSupport pricing and bid preparation for construction projectsWork with the estimating team to develop accurate and competitive bid proposalsReview project plans, specifications, and related documentsAssist in subcontractor and supplier solicitation during the bidding processCommunicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and project informationSupport the preparation and organization of bid documents and proposalsAssist with project scheduling efforts as directed by senior estimatorsMaintain organized project files, bid documents, and estimate recordsParticipate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and training as neededAssist with bid closeout and final proposal assemblyPerform additional duties as assigned by managementSkills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of construction estimating principles (internship or coursework acceptable)Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsAbility to learn estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBidAbility to read and interpret construction plans and specifications (preferred but not required)Strong willingness to learn and grow in the heavy civil construction industryAbility to work in a team environmentBilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not requiredEducation/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or in progress)0–2 years of experience in construction estimating, internships, or related field experience preferredBenefits:As an industry leader, we strive to offer employees a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package, including: Medical, Dental, Vision coverage (effective the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment)Paid Time OffAbout IOC Company LLC:We have a total dedication to safety, quality, and productivity which has led to our company's success.
