Behavioral Technician - Hillcrest Adolescent Treatment Center Behavioral TechnicianSalary Range: $21.00 To $24.00 HourlySchedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday - 2PM to 10PMJob SummaryProvide rehabilitative support regarding the care of a co-occurring population ensuring that clients and staff have what they need to follow lead of the Program Director, Therapists and Executive Director.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesProvide line of sight supervision to clients and skill building psycho-educational and/or support groupsComplete house related chores as assignedProvide and facilitate educational and non-substantive counseling groups assigned and promptly document these activities in the client's recordsStrive to increase professional growth and effectiveness through completing all required trainingProvides crisis intervention services when authorized and necessaryMaintain active participation with the clients at all timesPrepare and monitor medication administration then document all details in KIPUDocument clients' daily activities, unusual behavior, and pertinent information in KIPUOpen communication with staff, therapists, and Executive DirectorAssist the Educational Director during designated school times, with education related activities and monitoring of the client's computer internet useEncourage client's participation in all daily activities and promote positive interactions among peersCarry out other responsibilities as delegatedExpectationsDEPENDABILITY - Employee can be counted on to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with little supervision. Accepts responsibility when necessary to see that the job gets doneATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY - Is prompt and on time for work, assignments and meetings. Notifies supervisor prior to lateness or absence. Understands that excess absences pose a hardship on other employeesJOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE - Employee completes all chart related documents and correspondence for assigned clients in a timely manner. Employee works cooperatively with other community resources and referral sources to coordinate services to clientsQUANTITY AND QUALITY OF WORK – Cares about the quality and accuracy of work being produced. Accepts responsibility for completing job tasks. Uses time productively and efficientlyATTITUDE – Demonstrates a cooperative, positive, and enthusiastic attitude toward fellow employees, clients and visitors. Follow-through and follow-up on assignmentsJudgement: Ability to reason intelligently, reach conclusions logically, and exercise common sense; ability to discern the appropriateness of pursuing or conceding an issueAccountability: Keeps promises and honors commitments, including client and internal deadlinesRequired Skills/AbilitiesMinimum of one year of relevant experienceFirst aid and CPR certification - we will pay for you to obtain certification if needed!Current drivers' license and clear DMV recordGood verbal and written communication skillsBasic Computer skills i.e. internet, email, and WordMust be able to lift and carry light objects and parcels as an incidental part of their jobEducation and ExperiencePossesses a High School diploma or GEDHave a minimum of 1-year experience in the social services field preferredDemonstrates a genuine desire to work with the population servedCertification in mental health preferredKnowledgeA knowledge of regulations concerning of mental health treatmentWorking knowledge of substance abuse, mental health disorders, and treatment procedures for such illnessesSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilitiesPhysical RequirementsFrequent sitting must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the timeMust be able to lift and carry light objects and parcels as an incidental part of their jobThe position needs to occasionally move about inside and outside the facility frequentlyConstantly operates a computer with other office machineryFrequently communicates with other employees and clientsMust be able to travel between assigned facilities via carNote: Research shows that women and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds often apply to jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications.
