Saw Operator / Painter

Qualifications Our company builds custom production machinery for a wide range of industries. We are currently looking for a highly skilled, self-motivated individual who has the skill set to cut raw materials on our bandsaws, as well as paint finished parts and entire machines. Essential Responsibilities Read fabrication drawings and cut lists Cut steel bar stock and structural tubing according to length tolerances Optimize material utilization to minimize scrap Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts Perform routine saw maintenance and blade changes Stage material for fabricators and machinists Clean parts and assemblies with degreaser Spray steel parts and weldments using water-based paint Maintain spray equipment and paint booth Qualifications Mechanical mindset Attention to detail Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16" Organized mind - keep track of drawings, materials, finished parts, and supplies Sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely manner Self-directed and self-motivated Trustworthy with strong ethics Willingness to help coworkers with a variety of mechanical and electrical work Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Shift: 8 hour shift Ability to Commute: Lafayette, IN 47904 (Required) Work Location: In person
