About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function for a growing organization based in the DC metro area. This is a high-visibility role for a hands-on leader who can oversee financial reporting, internal controls, and team management while partnering closely with senior leadership.What You'll DoOwn the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statementsOversee GAAP-compliant financial reporting and ensure compliance with internal controlsManage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and professional developmentPartner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planningManage relationships with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit processIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficienciesEnsure compliance with tax filings and regulatory requirementsWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA requiredBig 4 public accounting background required8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior Controller or Assistant Controller-level experienceStrong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls)Proven ability to lead and develop a teamExcellent communication and organizational skillsExperience with [ERP system — e.g., NetSuite, Yardi, SAP] a plus
