What You’ll DoSchedule and implement the organization's environmental, health and safety training program to safeguard employees and surrounding communitiesIncludes new hire orientation, job-specific training, and on-going training to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS policies, procedures, and regulationsConduct internal audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, industrial hygiene and safety/health laws, standards, and regulationsRespond to, investigate, and document all EHS incidentsCollect, analyze, and document the results of environmental samples from all facilities to ensure compliance with regulationsConduct and report recordkeeping requirements for facility’s permits and other environmental regulatory reporting (such as, stormwater sampling, visible emissions observations)Maintain and organize detailed records for permit requirementsBuild strong working relationships to support the adherence to environmental, health and safety initiativesLocal commuting 75% of time to various Southern California locations; responsibilities shared between the Los Angeles, CA, Rialto, CA, Thousand Palms, CA, Beaumont, CA and Escondido, CA facilitiesPerform other duties assignedWhat You’ll NeedBachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Science, or related field, and recent graduate – 3 years’ experience in an EHS-based position (aggregate industry preferred); or3 - 5 years in an EHS-based position, (aggregate industry preferred)Excellent communication skills both verbally and written (Required)Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)Regulatory experience with CALOSHA Title 8 (Preferred)Regulatory experience with OSHA 1910 and 1926 (Preferred)Regulatory experience with CA Waterboard, CARB, and other CA environmental agencies (Preferred)Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding air quality, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management (Preferred)Working experience with industrial stormwater sampling methods and conducting visible emissions observations (EPA Method 9 and 22) (Preferred)Strong knowledge and experience of training methods, procedures, and techniques (Preferred)Strong computer skills including data management and presentation and experience in MS Office Suite (Required)Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks concurrently (Required)Physical RequirementsAbility to work in all weather conditionsAbility to climb various heights on a regular basisAbility to stoop, kneel, and crawl in various situations/positionsAbility to lift, carry, and/or pull 50 lbs. on a regular basisAble to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of timeExposure to loud noise, machinery, chemicals, fumes, and odorsRequired to wear safety equipment including hard hat, safety glasses, goggles, steel toed boots, ear plugs, respirator, gloves, and various other similar items as requiredCompensationThe pay range for this position is $55,120 - $70,490 per year.
