Payroll Coordinator
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for processing bi-weekly company-wide payroll. Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, which will include resolving any payroll issues and discrepancies.Payroll Coordinator Rarebreed Veterinary Partners in Portland, ME $28-$30 per hour, depending on experienceWhat You'll DoThe following is a list of essential job requirements. This list may be revised at any time and additional duties not listed here may be assigned as needed.Process, reconcile and audit bi-weekly payroll for veterinary hospitals across multiple statesWork with HR to confirm accurate and timely payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay ratesEnsure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductionsPerform required account reconciliations as requiredAssist with building and documenting new processes where necessaryEnsure all pertinent information has been entered into the payroll system for accurate annual tax reporting – to include correct states and locals for lived in and worked in locationsAssist with applying for and setting up new SIT and SUI or local tax ID'sGenerate special "off-cycle" Bonus payroll runsAbility to understand, research and resolve W2 issuesServe as a key employee contact to resolve payroll issuesTrain new Managers in Paylocity for Payroll functionsAssist in ensuring payroll practices remain compliant with all federal, state and local regulationsPrepare a variety of ad-hoc reports as requestedPerform other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust be detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritizeMust have good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsMust be able to maintain confidentially of employee payroll dataMust be able to work closely and effectively with a diverse employee populationProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word) requiredExperience utilizing Paylocity preferredEducation and ExperienceAssociate degree or equivalent in Accounting or related discipline preferred but not requiredTwo+ years directly related, multi-state payroll experience requiredCertified Payroll Professional certification preferred but not requiredPhysical RequirementsDependable attendance is requiredProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records and understand written directions.Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing equipment such as a computer, etc.Adhere to appropriate dress code.Work EnvironmentThis is a hybrid role. Our HQ is located in Portland, ME.
