Electrical Designer/Drafter

Our client, is a Oilfield Services company, is looking for a Electrical Designer/Drafter for their Houston, TX location.Responsibilities:EPC Modular drafting & design, Solid Works (required), Navis works, PDF editor, Autodesk AutocadThe role of Electrical Designer is to support the Engineers and Engineering Manager in providing drawings and equipment BOM as per customer requirements independently.The Electrical Designer will support the service personnel in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.The Electrical Designer will be able to work on simple Engineering WorkRequest and comply with all departmental Work Instructions and Engineering Standards.The Electrical Designer will be responsible for checking and approving drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the electrical scope of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules meets customer's requirements and Industrial Standards they produce.The Electrical Designer is expected to resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and analysis of factual informationThe Designer will support the goals and programs established by the management team.These roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.Prepare bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials) with no supervision from Engineer.Ensure drawings follow the Engineering and QA/QC standards.Prepare layout drawings to customer to present the proposed equipment and the function of the equipment.Prepare and complete various electrical deliverable drawings and documents such as cable routing, panel drawings, panel layout, electrical schematics, interconnect diagrams, loop diagrams, single-line electrical wiring schematics, cable schedule, lighting location /layout / plan, instrument location / layout / plan, earthing details, I/O (Input/output) schedule, electrical termination hook-ups, etc.Help in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.Prepare sequence drawing and procedure for Factory Acceptance Test.Prepare and compile installation procedure for submission to customer.Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering / design firms.Review, as required, vendor data and drawings to ensure compliance with client specifications or applicable standards.Produce report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to Project/Client/Third Party, as required.Provide "Lessons learned" feedback and utilize findings from the process to update tools and proceduresRequirements:Mastery knowledge and proficiency in:Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent)Solid Works (required)Autodesk AutoCADNavisworks Manager / FreedomDesigner should be in possession a Technical Certification in the design discipline.A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical scopes of work for Hyperscale Data CenterModules or related environment in similar industry.Ability to produce drawings / sketches to illustrate design / ideas.Experience with high-density data centers and hyperscale environments (strongly preferred)High level understanding of the purpose of electrical system for facilities.General Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limitedIEC – International Electrotechnical CommissionIBC – International Building CodeOSHA – Occupational Safety and Health AdministrationNEC – National Electric CodeNFPA – National Fire Protection AssociationExperience working with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling(BIM) softwareMastery knowledge and proficiency in:Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent)Solid WorksAutodesk AutoCADNavisworks Manager / FreedomOperational knowledge in:SAP (ERP Tool w/ Engineering Modules and Transactions)Autodesk RevitAutodesk BIM 360Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Performs well under pressure in high stress environments.Extremely comfortable with task switching as priorities change.Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.Ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to enhance the client experience.Extreme work ethic and maintains high level of quality of work and due diligence.Express complex ideas effectively in both individual and group situations.Organize and express ideas clearly in written documents.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with across-functional teamWhy Should You Apply?Excellent growth and advancement opportunities
