Our expanding portfolio includes four distinctive brands – Birdies, Taft, Journee and Vance - that combine creativity, quality, and innovation — and we’re just getting started.Role OverviewWe are seeking an individual that will be responsible for shaping and executing the merchandising strategy for our brands’ growth and profitability. In this role, you will partner with SVP-Merchandising and Planning to ensure the product assortments align with overall sales plan and growth. This role requires a combination of leadership, vision, and the ability to leverage data-driven insights to influence key business decisions and optimize results.Key ResponsibilitiesHelp lead the development and execution of merchandise planning strategies that directly support company growth, profitability, and long-term objectives. Analyze market trends, sales performance, and inventory data to inform strategic decisions, ensuring precision in planning and execution. Work closely with senior leadership and Design, Demand Planning, and Marketing, to ensure alignment and smooth execution of merchandising strategies. Assist in developing seasonal and annual merchandise plans, including detailed sales forecasts, inventory budgets, and product assortment strategies. Continuously identify areas for process improvement, implementing best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness within merchandising. Monitor the performance of merchandise plans, making data-backed adjustments to optimize inventory levels and meet sales targets. Prepare and present detailed reports on merchandise performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership and cross-functionally for effective decision-making. Collaborate with Buyers to create and execute aligned strategies that enhance sales growth, improve gross margins, and increase inventory turnover. Establish and manage timelines for critical planning milestones, ensuring timely execution of business plan reviews and assortment strategies. Act as a key leader among peers, ensuring precise merchandising direction is seamlessly integrated across teams by providing direction, tools, and clear communication. Determine carryover items and be responsible for keeping system updated with correct hierarchical and status information QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business, merchandising, planning or a related field. 5+ years of experience in retail planning and merchandising, with a proven track record of driving growth and profitability. Strong level of proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite; strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advance analytical capabilities with experience in data-driven decision-making. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in developing strategic recommendations for implementing and improving merchandising processes and strategies Footwear industry or similar seasonal consumer goods experience is a plus.
