CNC Technician
BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated CNC Machinist/ Mechanical Technician for an onsite at Sunnyvale, CA Position Title: CNC Machinist/ Mechanical TechnicianLocation: Sunnyvale, CA OnsiteAnticipated Start Date: ASAPPlease note this is the target date and it is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.Expected Duration: 12+ months, possible extension based on business needsJob Type: OnsitePay Range: $35/hr. - $40/hr.Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).Job Summary:This role is the backbone of the service we provide to our partners. You will work hands-on in the operation of industrial-grade CNC machining equipment, programming parts using templated CAM programs, communicating with customers, and ensuring that we deliver on-time.As CNC machining is a critical part of our prototyping services, we’re looking for people with a background in digital design coupled with an interest in making things, and we’re willing to train the right person in the specifics of the job.Key Projects/Day-to-Day Responsibilities:Efficiently program parts using templated CAM programs in Fusion 360Load and unload materials, check machine status, and launch jobs at regular intervals to ensure delivery commitments are made.Remove finished parts from machines, clean and post-process as required, being careful to protect or highlight key features.Make updates in task management platform to keep requesters apprised of job status.Using existing SOPs, maintain equipment and ensure all tools and materials needed are on hand to ensure continuous production.Must-Have HARD SkillsExperience with CAD/CAM software (Fusion 360 or equivalent)CNC machine operation -- hobby or commercial gradeAbility to read and interpret 2D/3D digital design filesNice-to-have SkillsExperience in a prototyping shop environmentPost-processing skills (deburring, sanding, abrasive blasting)SolidWorks, Mastercam, or Rhino familiarityDeep experience in CAD/CAM templating (Fusion 360), 5-axis CNC familiarity, exposure to industrial-grade prototyping workflows, and direct collaboration with design and engineering teams.Years of Experience: 1-2 years minimum, 3-5 preferredDegrees/Certifications Required: Associates or Bachelors preferred; not required if equivalent shop experience demonstratedBenefits:BCforward offers all eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to major medical, HSA, dental, vision, employer-provided group life, voluntary life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and 401k.About BCforward:Founded in 1998 on the idea that industry leaders needed a professional service, and workforce management expert, to fuel the development and execution of core business and technology strategies, BCforward is a Black-owned firm providing unique solutions supporting value capture and digital product delivery needs for organizations around the world.
