Position Overview We are seeking a Power Systems Engineer to support the integration, modeling, and performance evaluation of inverter-based resources (IBRs), including wind, solar, and battery systems. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with CLIENT standards, specifically around voltage ride-through (VRT) and frequency ride-through (FRT) capabilities. The ideal candidate will contribute to system reliability studies, review technical submissions, collaborate with market participants, and support ongoing regulatory and process development initiatives. Key Responsibilities Perform reliability power system studies, including steady-state and dynamic stability analyses, to evaluate the impact of IBR performance on the grid. Assess and validate voltage ride-through (VRT) and frequency ride-through (FRT) capabilities of inverter-based resources in alignment with CLIENT requirements. Review and analyze technical data submissions to ensure compliance with grid standards and regulatory frameworks. Collaborate with internal teams and external market participants to facilitate submissions, modifications, and exemptions related to VRT/FRT requirements. Support implementation of NOGRR 245 and future regulatory updates from PUCT and CLIENT. Develop and improve processes and procedures related to IBR performance evaluation and compliance. Evaluate and recommend decisions on requests for extensions or exemptions from VRT/FRT requirements. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on IBR-related performance topics. Participate in stakeholder meetings and represent the organization in industry discussions as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Strong understanding of power systems fundamentals, including grid operations and stability concepts. Experience Requirements Level 1 Engineer No minimum professional experience required beyond educational qualifications. Preferred Qualifications Experience performing power system reliability studies (steady-state and dynamic). Background in renewable energy systems (wind, solar, battery storage).
