Job Description Job Title: Surgery Scheduler IIILocation: SVC Cardiology, 1950 University Ave, East Palo Alto, CA, 94303Schedule: Onsite | Day Shift (8hr) | Until LOA return | Full Time, Non-ExemptRequirements:HS Diploma or equivalent education or experienceExperience with EPIC is requiredExperience with surgical scheduling workflows, block time, and provider coordinationAbility to verify insurance eligibility, referrals, and prior authorizationsProficiency in scheduling systems, data entry, and intermediate computer skillsExperience coordinating with physicians, clinics, and ancillary departmentsAbility to manage high-volume scheduling with accuracy and prioritizationStrong communication skills for patient, provider, and staff interactionPreferred Requirements:Experience in cardiology or specialty procedural schedulingExperience training or onboarding new staffFamiliarity with surgical equipment and room coordination processesExperience supporting multiple providers or departmentsKnowledge of reporting or project coordination within scheduling teams2+ years recent experience in surgery or procedural schedulingSummary / Duties:Maintains and coordinates scheduling for surgical and specialized procedures within the cardiology department. Works closely with physicians, clinic staff, and ancillary teams to ensure accurate booking of procedures, including verification of provider block time, room availability, equipment, and supplies. Enters and updates scheduling data, manages changes and reschedules, and communicates updates to patients and care teams. Verifies insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorizations prior to procedures to ensure compliance and readiness. Tracks completed procedures and supports reporting or special projects as assigned. Provides cross-coverage support, assists with training new staff, and maintains workflow efficiency in a high-volume, detail-driven environment.
