Join a team where your voice matters and your work make a difference.Position OverviewThe Construction Administrator (CA) is responsible for overseeing construction-phase services to ensure that projects are executed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, quality standards, and client expectations. This role serves as a key liaison between the design team, contractors, and clients, providing technical expertise, field observations, and coordination throughout the construction process.Key ResponsibilitiesHelp our clients achieve their goalsWork with Market Directors and Project Managers to meet KZF goals and objectivesMaintains technical expertise in your profession and area of workProvide CA services on assigned projects including in-office responsibilities, as well as field observation responsibilitiesProvide daily leadership and management in overseeing the progress of construction by design and specificationsTravel to Project construction sites to perform on-site CA servicesAssist with and prepare construction cost estimatesReview construction for general conformance with the construction documentsSupport QC/QA processes including providing reviews for technical accuracy, constructability, code conformance, and appropriate level of document detailAssist Project Managers with development of project schedules and budgetsProvide technical and client management support to projects as neededParticipate in value engineering; attend project team meetings as requestedProvide technical and project support to staffAssist Directors in mentoring and technical development of staffCoordinate with Project Managers regarding CA schedule, construction progress and change order costs for assigned projectsProvide proactive leadership in identifying and solving project and client issuesConvey problem issues to project managersProvide “Lessons Learned” feedback to staff and managementAssist staff with construction administration processes, which typically include bidding assistance, review shop drawings, participate in construction site observation, prepare Request For Information (RFI) responses, review of pay applications, assist with project close-out activities, and work with the Construction Administration Department and other team members to resolve construction issues in a timely mannerQUALIFICATIONSCapable and experienced in all areas of Construction Administration with an emphasis on performing construction administration services for commercial construction projects in an A/E consulting firmComprehensive understanding of the Commercial Construction and A/E Design industryStrong technical Commercial construction knowledgeKnowledge of A/E industry, including building and site Commercial construction work and materialsFamiliarity with all forms of project delivery methodsFamiliarity with a variety of Commercial construction concepts, practices, and proceduresExperience with a broad range of commercial project typesStrong understanding of construction documents and specificationsProactive and diligent in problem solvingGood client skills and contractor relationsFamiliarity with Procore, SureTrak, Primavera, Constructware, and similar softwareExperience with the State of Ohio OFCC Policy Procedures for Construction Administration a plus, (including OAKS CI) and / or Commonwealth of Kentucky DECA Policy Procedure for Construction Administration (including eCOmm) a plusGood interpersonal skills that inspire trust, open dialogue and encourages teamworkGood business judgement and understanding of the business implications of decisionsGood written and oral communications skills; good client skills; fluent in speaking, reading and writing in EnglishExperience with the State of Ohio DOT (ODOT) Policies and Procedures a plusEstimating experience using RSMeans CostWorks a plusEstimating experience using MCACES (MII) a plusCSI Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA) a plusLEED certification a plusPreferred QualificationsExperience in Commercial, Industrial and Mixed-Use Developments including Civic, Public Safety, Education, Healthcare, etc.Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Bluebeam, MS Project or other project management toolsLEED accreditation or other sustainability credentials a plus Why Join KZF Design?Collaborative and inclusive work environmentOpportunities for professional growth and leadershipCompetitive compensation and benefitsCommitment to design excellence and community impactBenefitsMedical & Dental Insurance401(k) Retirement Plan with company matchPaid Time Off & HolidaysProfessional Development SupportCollaborative, Inclusive Work CultureRecognition as one of Cincinnati’s Top 100 Places to Work since 2021To ApplyPlease submit your resume, cover letter, and portfolio (if applicable) to www.kzf.com/careersKZF Design is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
