Title: VAVE EngineerLocation: Dearborn, MIDuration: Long Term Required Skills:Underbody parts designExperience with manufacturing processes including stamping and weldingKnowledge of cost breakdown and should-cost analysisStrong understanding of sheet metal part designProficiency in CAD tools such as CATIA or NXExperience with PLM systemsKey Responsibilities:Design and develop automotive underbody and exhaust system componentsSupport product development and VAVE/cost engineering activitiesPerform cost breakdown and should-cost analysis for automotive componentsCollaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams for design optimizationSupport manufacturing feasibility for stamping, welding, and assembly processesParticipate in teardown benchmarking and cost reduction workshopsEnsure designs meet quality, cost, and performance requirementsQualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field5+ years of experience in automotive product development or cost engineeringExperience working with OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers preferredFamiliarity with Ford systems and processes including GPDS, WERS, and AIMS preferredStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
