This position is best suited for an experienced accounting professional who brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to operate with a high degree of ownership.This individual will support external financial reporting and technical accounting initiatives, while actively participating in key aspects of the month-end closing process. The role requires a detail-oriented, proactive professional who can independently manage responsibilities, navigate complex accounting matters, and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.As a Staff Accountant, You WillContribute to consolidation activities and external reporting requirements, including IFRS-based financials for Canadian operationsSupport technical accounting initiatives, including researching guidance, drafting technical memos, and assisting with policy developmentPrepare journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesEnsure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the general ledger for assigned areasAssist with accounting for complex areas such as leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation, and other technical topicsStrengthen and support internal controls, including participation in the design, maintenance, and enhancement of accounting processesIdentify, analyze, and propose process improvements to enhance the efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of internal and external financial reporting, among other dutiesTo be successful you will need to have the following experience, skills and abilities:Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.2–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a demonstrated ability to operate with increasing ownership and complexityExperience in the transportation or equipment leasing industry is considered a strong asset.Public accounting and/or relevant industry experience preferredExperience supporting financial reporting and external audits requiredExperience in multi-entity or international environments (including IFRS exposure) is a plusCPA designation or active progress toward CPA strongly preferredPlease note all prospective employees must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, have a valid driver's license, and meet our insurability standards.All applications will be reviewed carefully by our team.
